Secondly, 105 queries are generated, which includes detailed descriptions of 35 queries and three variants of each query in the TREC format. That is, firstly, a large collection of 2,887,169 Urdu documents is scrapped and converted into the standard format proposed by TREC. To that end, this study has focused on constructing the largest-ever and semantic IR benchmark for the Urdu language that strictly complies with the procedures proposed by TREC. Furthermore, the available benchmarks have several limitations which include smaller size, unavailability of the benchmark, inadequate candidate documents for evaluation, and merely binary relevance judgement. However, most of the resource development effort has been directed to English and other Western languages, whereas resource development for Urdu has received little attention, which has thwarted the development of IR techniques. Recognizing the importance of the evaluation of IR techniques, Text REtrieval Conference (TREC) has been regularly organized for the last three decades with an aim to develop and continuously improve these techniques. The evaluation of these techniques require test collections, which are composed of a collection of documents, queries and relevance judgement between query - document pairs. As a plethora of IR techniques has been developed, therefore the evaluation of these techniques has been of paramount importance. Information Retrieval (IR) systems are developed to fulfill several needs of users. In addition, the findings can contribute as a reference for future researchers to develop models or guidelines for blockchain authentication methods in banking and financial institutions. The technique was evaluated based on three (3) criteria: Number of documents retrieved, the time taken to retrieve them and the relevance of the documents to the query or research question. The analysis of this technique shows that Boolean search strings technique returns more relevant articles compared to the free text query by at least 77% and in shorter time frame. Searching engines such as google, google scholar and online bibliography sources such as IEEE Xplore, ACM and Science Direct were used to implement the technique. In this paper, the technique of Boolean search string is explored in details along with the analysis/evaluation of the effectiveness of the technique. However, with little automated help for the free text search query. Search engines and on-line bibliography resource sites are conventionally used to find the relevant literatures using key word search. The relevant literatures should be searched from multiple sources. The review of available literature is a foundation requirement for most research projects.
